UTIs can be painful and can last for a long time. They occur more often in young children and woman but can also occur in Men, especially when Men get older and have prostate problems.

Signs and Symptoms of UTI are:
- Burning or stinging when passing urine
- Needing to pass urine more often
- Only passing small amounts of urine at a time
- Fever, chills, vomiting, generally feeling unwell
- Discoloured, smelly or cloudy urine or even Blood in the urine
- Pain in lower abdomen or lower back

You should see your doctor if:
- Your symptoms last more than 24 hours
- You have fever, nausea or vomiting
- You have pain or tenderness in your lower abdomen or back
- You have blood in or urine or have an unusual vaginal discharge
- You think you have a UTI and could be pregnant
- You have UTIs that keep coming back
Men and Children will always be referred to their Doctor for suspected UTI. Your pharmacist can discuss your symptoms and give you advice on how to treat and prevent UTI.
