Accredited Pharmacists who have completed the appropriate training course can provide Emergency contraception.
If you are under 25 - so 24 years or younger, the consultation and medication will be free for New Zealand residents. This is a professional, confidential service and you don’t need to make an appointment.
Please contact your BOPCPG pharmacist to discuss in more detail if you wish. Alternatively, you can visit your GP or Family Planning clinic to assist with Emergency Contraception or other sexual health requirements.
If you have had unprotected sex you should seek out a sexual health check. You can catch a Sexually Transmitted Infection without experiencing any symptoms.
The only way to be sure is to get tested.
Please see your GP, Family Planning clinic, or discuss with your pharmacist on who you can visit if you have concerns about a Sexually Transmitted Infection.
